Program Overview:

Quality engineering focuses on an in-depth study of organizational, technical, and strategic tools used to improve productivity and the delivery and quality of products and services. The application of these tools addresses quality and productivity issues to help organizations standardize procedures, measure performance, improve customer satisfaction, and manage resources more efficiently.

The Process Quality Engineering advanced-level graduate certificate program provides you with the in-demand skills sought by various industries. These skills include quantitative methods and statistics, Lean Six Sigma techniques, problem-solving, and operations and project management.

Once you graduate, you will be equipped to perform process-quality roles within any area of an organization. You will be able to apply for jobs like industrial engineering and manufacturing technologist and technician, engineering inspectors and regulatory officer, and other products assembler, finisher, and Inspector positions.

Learning Outcomes:

  3. Identify issues, opportunities, and performance metrics using current and relevant tools such as Value Stream mapping and process mapping.

  4. Apply knowledge, skills, and practical procedures of process quality measurement and improvement to transactional and business processes, as well as manufacturing processes and material.

  5. Apply analytical reliability methods to support the design, engineering, and management of reliability activities throughout the life cycle of a product.

Career Outlook:

On completion of the program, the graduate will understand the role of modern quality techniques in creating value in an organization and will be able to apply the proper techniques and procedures to solve problems and enhance the quality of goods and services, to eliminate waste and to reduce the incidence of defects. Many of the graduates from the PQE program have found opportunities in various manufacturing/service sectors such as: aerospace and defence, automotive, custom manufacturing, high volume processing (e.g., food processing), capital goods manufacturing, and finance.
