Program Overview:

Be at the forefront of content creation in immersive environments with this one-year graduate certificate in Virtual Reality Production. Within the program, you will examine the use of Extended Reality (XR) in various industries including entertainment, manufacturing, healthcare, and education, as well as look at future applications of the technology. Using leading-edge hardware and software and through the creation of VR content, you will discover how to enhance the user experience through human-centered design techniques, storytelling methods, environment construction, character development, and user navigation. Students come together from multiple related disciplines such as Animation, Game, IT, Film and Television to combine traditional and emerging technologies and techniques to create engaging immersive experiences.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Design virtual reality content using appropriate digital platforms and technical principles to meet production requirements

3. Complete the production of 2D and 3D visual elements to create aesthetically relevant assets that promote exploration within the virtual environments

4. Manage the production pipeline to meet schedules and budget constraints of a virtual reality production

5. Select appropriate hardware and software protocols to create various forms of extended reality (XR) such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
